I have ReDJ with custom 404 page set up OK on my main website on Joomla 3. Works great.
But I also have a subdomain which is on Joomla 2.5 and again I have a custom 404 page, but errors are all redirecting to the home page. The default home page is a third party component, not a joomla blog or single article.
The sub domain setup is like this:
w w w.the-subdomain.the-main-website.com and not www.the-main-website/the-subdomain
I just cannot get it to work. I tried setting the base path to /the-subdomain just to see if it made a difference, but of course it didn't.
Any ideas anyone?

Sorry but I need more info.
Are you using the same virtual host for the subdomain?
You could send me your virtual host configurations at info(at)selfget.com.
Kind regards,
Luigi

				Hi,
The website is on a Bluehost shared server.
Setup:
PHP 5.3.27
Apache
Joomla 2.5.14
ReDJ works OK if in root/dir e.g. website/folder with another instance of Joomla.
But not another instance of Joomla.root
If that make sense.
Regards,
Paul

Hi Luigi,
I did a test by setting up a web page as the home page and the redirect to the custom error 404 page then worked.
So the problem is that we are using a component (JV-LD) as the home page and not a Joomla core article. ReDJ is obviously coded for an article as the website URL.
Hope that helps.
Regards,
Paul

				Hi Paul,
I think the best way to fix the issue is to schedule a remote support session with Team Viewer, so you can show me the problem and the server settings if needed.
If you agree, send me an email at info(at)selfget.com.
Kind regards,
Luigi
