				Hi
I was just reviewing whether to use goo.gl or bit.ly and thought I'd check if there was a native joomla alternative.
It looks as though ReDJ will do the job I want ie. redirect
www.mydomain.co.uk/ab1 to
www.mydomain.co.uk/a-longer-more-convoluted-title-that-users-don't-want-to-type
So before I program in a dozen or so redirects I was wondering if there are any drawbacks to ReDJ ie. would it be better to use goo.gl or bit.ly type services instead? I will be using short links in hard copy promotional material as well as in online marketing / adverts etc. I guess I am thinking about SEO and google analytics drawbacks if any?
Thanks.

				Hi,
you can do this even if the final URL is not so... short.

An advise.
If you have a lot of (i.e. millions of) URLs and you do not need to stay on the short version (i.e. a redirect on the real URL will be made) you could use the redirect URL feature on the error pages. This is better because query is optimized with indexes and is faster then rules.
Kind regards.
