Hello,

your jBackend compo seems really promising.

We would like to know if it can be extended (without touching the core files) in order to pull data from other compos, modules, contacts etc....

For example, we usually use Zoo for CCK and if we buy your compo we would like to able to extend it in order to work with ZOO.

If yes, is there any docs.

Thanks in advance and looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Haris,
thanks for your question. jBackend is absolutely extensible. The core component implements the common infrastructure and the routing part, while the API can be defined adding plugins. At the moment I have completed two core plugins needed to start to use jBackend. API are documented here:

www.selfget.com/documentation/jbackend-joomla30/user-module.html
www.selfget.com/documentation/jbackend-joomla30/content-module.html

Now I'm working on additional modules. K2 is almost ready, with the same API of content module. After this, I want to start with ZOO and Virtuemart and other "most used" extensions that could be interesting to extend with API (e.g. accessible by mobiles).

The plugin structure is not documented yet, I'm assuming not so many people want to develop plugins by themself, but the structure is clear, and I can describe if needed.

Kind regards,
Luigi

Hello and thank you the quick reply

I understand that one can extend the API for custom components, which is great. Most probably we will subscribe to your service in order to see the possibilities in detail.

Thanks

Hi Haris,
if you have any doubt, please, ask me before to subscribe... I want only happy users :)

If you need an example of the plugin structure, just send me an email at info(at)selfget.com.

Kind regards,
Luigi

Hi,
I have just released SobiPro module and I am finishing EasyBlog module (80% ready). After this I will add some new features to basic component (like stats) and start with other modules. The next modules could be ZOO and Fabrik (I have user requests for both extensions).

Kind regards,
Luigi
